FNT 006 Architect Hoodie
100% cotton 435gsm fabric (pre-wash), then it is washed and pre-shrunk which yields a ~480gsm hooded sweatshirt. The idea was to create a hooded sweatshirt that is engineered for years of use.
Design Note:
We have developed our own custom thick loopback fabric which is perfectly heavyweight (stops short of feeling like a blanket). We pair this with an oversized silhouette, neutral in width.
The issue with 100% natural fibres like cotton is shrinkage (width and length) over years and numerous wash/dry cycles. This is how we address this with design:
Width- We control for width shrinkage by using a side panel like vintage Champion sweatshirts that distributes tension.
Length- Our hoodie is slightly longer in the body, with the intention of keeping the length within wearable range over years of use. Over time, this will very gradually develop into a boxier shape
